Default Grand marquis/5.0 newbee seeking pros

Good morning I apparently posted in the wrong section before, I just purchased a 1991 MGM GS and I'm looking for some tips and tricks from the pros, she runs good but feels like it idles low sometimes and the check engine light comes on occasionally (i changed the air filter and tightened down the intake and it seemed to help the light coming on) and she's stalled on me twice also im getting the airbag light when i turn her over is this normal? sometimes it goes off sometimes it flashes six times. its got a new alternator, i cleaned the terminals and the previous owner kept up on the routine maintenance pretty well. I'm looking for easy things my brother and i can work on to make her run smoother and ive heard alot about seafoam but want more info I"m also reading things about force feeding the car water!?!? changing the TV cable to a brass bushing? was planning on doing spark plugs, pcv and wires also fuel filter asap. Lemme kno just posted some fresh pics of her in my albums check em out. Just a little update I watched a vid on youtube an discovered the tv bushing is gone and a zip tie is holding it together

Default TV Cable bushing install for dummies :p

well since nobody responded to my post i went ahead and figured out how to change the TV cable bushing, I'll also explain what your bushing options are and Ive provided a link to show you how to easily change the bushing. Also the install was a piece of cake and im a novice.

To start i removed the cold air intake and air filter housing as one piece. two bolts hold the intake and two more hold the air filter housing loosen those and the clamp holding it all to the intake manifold and pop it all off.

okay hopefully i dont need to specify this but... with the car off lol find something to push the accelerator to the floor for easier access to the bushing or if you have an extra person they can hold it down. Here is the link i speaking about this guys a master and he doesnt over complicate the install, as an added bonus he shows you how to adjust the T.V. cable on the truck version also. http://wheelbase.ws/mustang/?p=602

Okay now in the video they show the nylon bushing to replace the old rubber one, now you can still get the nylon one at the dealer for around $5 it's Part # E0AZ-7330-A and it snaps onto the throttle body and then you just snap in the AOD linkage like the video showed.

The better alternative is a brass bushing and cotter pin Part # F3SZ-7H303-B for around $10 it goes in male side up and you just pop the cotter pin on and you're good to go. I've got both versions the nylon looks and feels strong but for $5 more you never have to worry about it again, when searching for these parts if the dealer doesn't have it in stock don't be afraid to ask if they could search nearby dealers (I got the brass one from the lincoln dealer) also the brass ones come in a 4 pack so if the parts guys have to order they may try to charge you for all 4 in that case try and call around before resorting to that, the one parts guy was kind enough to pull one for me from another store. Well good luck hope it helps
