Head Lights

My head lights arent that bright on my 1993 mgm and im wanting some new ones... every one ive talked too says they dont make aftermarket head lights for my car... if any one knows of head lights out there please let me know... they also have moisture in the lamps and they look bad and you couldnt see them on if you were standing in front of them...

I replied in my LED thread, but try to restore them with a wet sanding kit.

If you really dont feel confident, I could do it for you if you're comfortable with that sort of thing. PM me.

ok... well i might have to hit you up on that offer.. is there any after market head lights that i could up grade to that might look a little better than the original?

Aftermarket for the '93s, I have not found. It would be awesome to retrofit my headlight housings to accept HID Projectors. The round eye looking things you see on Cadillacs and luxury cars look awesome and dont blind people like HID kits do.

I'd have to vacuum form a lens and cut the housing to fit the projector. Doesn't seem like it'll happen soon.

Put in a word to the major makers of retrofit headlights, they might come up with a solution within a few months! Tell them you have friends on a forum that also want them and let us know if you need backup.

restore the headlamp housings and replace the bulbs with brighter bulbs (just keep the wattage rating the same as the bog standard bulbs to prevent overloading the wiring).

My 96 has had crappy headlights since the day I picked it up, and that was long before the lenses went to crap.. Matter of fact I upgraded the bulbs on the way home from the dealer... They were better but not a whole lot, especially the low beams.. I caved and threw a set of cheapo $20 Walmart fog lights on it.. Life is good!

My wreched former '97 Sable was exactly the same way... Sad really when alot of the mid 70's cars I;ve had over the years had excellent headlights with just plain ole halogens...

Must be a Ford thing as I hear alot of other people complain about the same thing..

i dont know... but they really bug me when im driving through the country at night and when i look at the front of the car...

I really think you'll have to restore the headlight. In the daytime with the lights turned off, if you cant see the bulb you know it wont shine on the road. It just hits the lens and dispurses everywhere but the road. After restoring my headlights, I can clearly see the bulb and even the filament from the outside.

well i cant see the bulb so i guess ill have to restore it then....
