Headlight switch question - 92 Grand Marquis

1992 Mercury Grand Marquis.

The car has the headlight switch with automatic off. The one with the adjustable timer to leave headlights on after leaving vehicle.

Anyway, switch is acting up and dash lights come and go.

Going to replace the switch. Apparently these cars came with two switches or the Crown Vic had a simple ON/OFF switch. I assume the Crown Vic switch is same on Grand Marquis. I assume they made one plug for all headlight switches but not sure.

Question:

Will the standard (non-automatic off) switch work on this car? In other words will the Crown Vic standard on/off switch work with the Grand Marquis - that has auto-off headlights?

From Mercury website:

"Seating
The Grand Marquis offers space to seat six, with a spacious cabin and bench seating. A few reviewers appreciate the soft seats, while others complain they are too soft and flat."

All Grand Marquis provide seating for six. Three front and three rear. All. Seat belts have been standard on cars since 1965.

And some think that this is a valid reason to pull someone over? To ask this?

To check to see if this car has 3 seatbelts for 3 in front. And officer did not even check to view the seat belts.

Is this a valid reason to pull someone over - from the blue uniform people?

Again, seat belt usage is not mandatory in this state for those over 18 years of age.

Any law enforcement people out there?
