I have a 1989 MGM, with a 5.0 engine. My problem is my heat. The heat is nice and warm for about 20 minutes then it gets cold. My radiator, waterpump, heatercore and s-tat are all good. The inside doors under the dash are working good. The t-stat is 192f. The only thing that i can think of is the climate control valve.Does anyone know how to test it. Any,suggestions will help.

Thank you

It''s ok I found out my problem now.The solution the actuator door was stuck on thecold side that is why I did not have heat. Want I did is disconnect the vacuum lines that goes to the valve. Now i have alot of heat. When the summer comes around all i have to do is connect the vacuum line back and i have acagain. In order words, summer vacuum in and wintervacuum out.

sounds like the control valve (should be at the other end of that vacuum line) may be bad. If you don''t want to have to dig under the dash 2 or more times a year to mess with that vacuum line, you might want to replace the control valve.

Whatis thereal name of the control valve. Is it automatic temp controlbecause that''swhere the vacuum lineends.

not sure, I''m not good with terminology, but you can always take it out and take it to a dealer and get a replacement. Or search for the part number that is on it.
