On year model 2000, blower motor will not come on with any heater/air
conditioner panel blower speed control setting, regardless of mode (max AC,
normal AC, vent, floor, etc.} Control has digital display.&nbs p;&nbs p;&nbs p;&nbs p;

Replacing blower motor and a module on the evaporator case (that seems to
consist of a relay, resistors and a diode) did no good. Fuses checked OK
visually and with ohmmeter. Voltage at connector to the blower was in
millivolts and varied inversely with fan speed setting.

Wrappings on wiring harness and it''s routing make it near impossible to
trace wires and check for breaks, shorts and groundouts. Any help greatly
appreciated.Edited by: 53208741m

what year car? and is this a digital control for the temp?

when you said the blower varied, did you mean you jump it out at the relay to see if it is working? milivolts? you should have 4.5V at the relay but this will varry with the year of car.

let me know

Problem with 2000 Grand Marquis found and fixed. The connector to the
module on the evaporator case had become partially dislodged, possibly due
to engine rock or having worked on heater hoses close to connector. This
turned up when I disconnected module to check for good ground. On
reconnecting this, it went on further than when first removed and the blower
then worked correctly.53208741m

awesome work. sometims it pays to recheck things we were fixxing before and go over it for mistakes. Good job on finding it. it probably would of taken a certified mechanice sometime to find that through tests. good job on going over things that you were working around sometimes we forget to do this.
