I have a 2000 Grand Marquis. About the only thing I can say bad about it is the High Beams. They don't seem to reach out as far as I think they should. When I switch fromLow to High beam, it lights up a wider area, but not all that much farther. Keeping them clean is a must, because when they are dirty, they're even worse. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there an easy way to improve them?

I installed HId kit...flexible so its a 9007 bulb with a mtorized housing to switch to high beam. they are extremely bright and I almsot never use the high beam fucntion but I can and its amazing how mucha rea lights up. Also the kit came with relay setup so it eliminates a known voltage issue with eh headlight/lamp circuit ont he Marquis where the lights dont get the proper amount of voltage (II believe that the issue or similar) and it was plug n play.

GRAxxx,

One issue could be manufacturing tolerances/age of the lights bulbs. Sounds strange, but it is a simple fact.

Besides that the Halogen gases age (that's why the bulbs are called "H" xxx bulbs), if you still have the original ones in, they are 7 years old now.

Replacing them with new ones could solve this issue, unless it has something to do with your reflectors. In this case, any other light bulbs will not help you, no matter how much light you put in there, if the reflector is not forwarding the beam, it doesn't matter how strong the source is.

Greetings!
