Hot rod Merc?
I wanted to beef up my 99 Merc, just curious of all compatible performance parts for the 4.6 V8 2V. Are there any Mustang GT bolt ons that will work or where do I need to look for performance? If you have any links, please feel free to share or point me in the right direction to getting top power and torque out of this engine.

Hot Rod Merc !??
Hello, Bluepit, and welcome to the Mercury Forums --
I don't wanna bust yer bubble, but you're driving a 2-ton car -- It ain't gonna go very fast, period. Not many performance-enhancing bolt-ons for the 2v without getting into HUGE dollars. Most bolt-ons are bull****, anyways -- 1. - Killer intake manifold from a GT gave power at 5,000-up rpms, but it was WAY down on mid-range power and torque (which is where it's needed most). Waste of time and money. 2. - Throttle Body Spacer -- excellent paperweight -- NOT for fuel-injected engines.. 3. - Cold Air Intake -- most are completely ineffectual. Pixture shows Air Box with snorkle removed, dryer hose ducts air from forward of engine bay. 4. - Dual Exhaust -- Best bang for the buck -- a solid 20-24 hp over the single exhaust. Pixture shows Walker H-Pipe, MagnaFlow 2" glasspacks, Walker tailpipes on The 95 MERC. Added 24 hp over stock -- checked with G-Tech Pro. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mer...21a85fe733.jpg Snorkel Removed -- Cold Air Ducted From Forward of Engine Bay. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mer...f89c69f476.jpg Walker H-Pipe; MagnaFlow 2" Glasspacks; Walker Tailpipes. |
Can I use 5.4l 4v heads or 4.6l 4v heads instead of 2v?
