look for Marader parts on ebay to do upgrades. you can get all kinds of stuff to make it unique to your liking.

i know more about the 5.0 so i cant help muh motorwise really for upgrades. i can say that if built up to Marauder standards, the Marauder can outperform a Mustang. about the best upgrade for our buck is to have the rear gears changed out. look on your door sticker and let me know what it says under AX. that is what will tell ya the rear gear ratio is. from there, i can say what will improve performance with your gearing.

I appreciate the offer of advice 87, but I don't plan any mechanical mods. The car has 35k on it and the dealership gave me a 100K powertrain warrenty which could be voided if any mods are done that affect the engine or tranny.

BTW I used to have a 86 Town Car Cartier with the same 5.0. I sold it a coule years ago because the leather and rubber were starting to deteriorate...the engine and tranny were running like new at 167k......

ok, didnt know about warranty stuff. ummm.... you could always get Marauder corner lenses, and a nice set of wheels for it. a set of Torque Thrust wheels for a mustang will fit and give it a sportier look if you wanted that along with a lil window tint. the wheels will make a big difference on the appearance.

the rear gears for your car would be just different options that would have been offered on the car from the factory. the cars shown in my signature all have different gears in them from factory... example...

1989 Crown Vic sedan----- 2.73 open
1987 Crown Vic 2 door---- 2.73 trac-lok
1987 Grand Marquis sedan- 3.27 trac-lok
1987 Crown Vic 2 door---- 3.27 open
1987 Crown Vic sedan----- 3.08 open

for the look wheels and for the get up and go that doesnt affect the mods of engine and such a rear gear change is a good start to help with better take off and noticable difference in performance from engine. the gears help to let the engine let the car move better and depending on where you drive helps mileage. 3.55 or 3.27 gears are great for get up and go and overall performance. those gear sets will make it feel more like driving a sport car compared to gears that take forever to make it move in comparison.2.73 gears are only good if car is being used strictly for highway use. < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </>Ill check the gear codes just for fun, and compare to you other post.

Honestly the acceleration in the lower speeds (say 0 thru 50) is great as far as I'm concerned. I wish it hadmore "afterburner" going from say 50 - 75, but I can't complaint. The car I had was a 99 Deville Concours (300 hp Northstar), which was made to operate in that range, so I was spoiled. Now from 0 - 50 I swear this MGM would keep up with it, but the Concours would simply keep going and going and going........

It was fantastic to drive, BUT the northstar engine is a royal pain to maintain and GOD HELP YOU if/when it requires significant work (and it will).

I had to sell it. The MGM is a better al around deal for me. I'm 6' 7" 300 pounds and the room is FAR better than the Caddy. The ride is just as good. It looks better IMO, and I can DEPEND on it.....< =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-45"; urchinTracker(); </>< => <!--
