Default My Creampuff 95 Marquis

Hi folks,

I am Rob in Ft.Worth, TX...Ever since I saw the Marauder I new I would eventually take ownership of my 94 year old grandma's Merc. I am the sole heir and it has sat for 5 years. OMG I have spent a week and about about $1600 getting the car road worthy. Brakes, cruise, ignition, oil, trans, rearend, cooling service. Serpintine belt, new wiper washer pump (a story in itself....but at the end of the day this car hauls a**. I want to add a cold air system and a Police Interceptor ECM...I know the heads on the SOHC 4.6 only flow so well. Dad was a gear head, R.I.P. Dad and so am I. I have been in the same car club 31 years. The Arlington Redliners Street Machine Club. I would love to read some stories of any way to squeeze every inch of horse power out of this 4.6. The car is the epitome of creampuff, runs silky smooth and hauls a** too.

Peace,

Rob

nice man. I would love to make my GM fast, but if I did, I'd have to USE it's power. plus I don't stuff about engines and such. anyways, here's my MGM story.

I had an 82 cutlass on 20s with music and such and one day it died. in the middle of freaking out, I wake up one day and I got a call from my mother saying my grandmothers friend can no longer drive and wants to get rid of her car. turned out to be a 93 grand marquis. I was happy because I always liked those big ol cars. the car was in great shape minus not havin ac. it had 118k miles driven from fl to nc each year, then sat until it was time to drive back. I did the usual to it, 20s, cd player, subs etc. got into an accident and had to junkyard replace the headlights, front bumper, header panel, radiator support and pretty much the whole front of the car.

browsing cardomain one night... on the corner I see an eBay ad with a 93 grand Marquis for $1990. after debating... I decided to "buy it now". I bought my car an hour away from a guy who bought this from an old lady... 48k miles on it and in even better cond than my other one! miiinnntt!!!! so this time I decided to do things nicer. I got a nicer alpine head unit for it. 6x8 front infinity door speakers, 6x9 rear dash infinity speakers. didn't cut the hole and do it ghetto... took out the back seat, seat belts dash etc and did it proper. sold my "ok" system that was more for SPL (loudness) and replaced it with something for SQ (quality). I got a jl 13w3 in custom porter box with a jl 250/1 amp being powered by a duralast gold battery mounted pretty in the trunk and a red top optima up front. got the darkest legal tint I could and found some beautiful 22s with matching inserts that bring the car to life. looks great, sounds great, rides great....

think I'm a MGM guy for life.
