Well, the 302 is a good dependable motor for it's time. Of course, engines have come a long way since 87. It is a very simple engine to work on and parts availability should be pretty good thanks to the mustang. the older engines don't put out as much power per cubic inch as the newer engine designs, but it is a ver versitile platform. I hope that helps some.

[qute=jjppmm29]what i can get out of it, what i can add on to it, (all the after-market parts etc)
That is one of the most popular and most modified engines of all time. Check out any Ford based publication. Almost anything that will bolt onto a 5.0 mustang engine will bolt on to yours. |
you can do as m uch as you can afford...
i reccoment JC Whitney, Summit Racing, and JEGS thats the best area |
Those are good cars. Helped a friend with an old 86 a few years back. He added dual exhausts to his. Had a local muffler shop do it, and the sound was awesome. That's fairly inexpensive as well. Do a google search on various things you would consider on any car mods, and you'll find the 302 5.0L engine parts are readily available. If you don't find it under Grand Marquis, look under LTD Crown Victoria.... GOOD LUCK MAN!! |
