rear gears should be changed for faster take offs, find some police front and rear sway bars along with exhaust that way for cheap from salvage yard, and other things you may find left on a retired police car that will fit...

thanks I will check the yard I am going to tommorow and see if they havy any old cop cars. is there anything else ?

do you think that I could use the computer out of an old cop car also ? and would the year make much difference on the computer ?

police cars are mostly same as civilian models... speedometers are different, police have p/s cooler and trans cooler, and most the time different hoses that arent regular black rubber... brain box i wouldnt worry about getting... 4.6L stuff is more expensive for mods outside of getting the simple police options... reason i buy these cars with the 5.0L since mustang parts can be swapped in for performance and cheeaper mods

I found a site that I could get performance parts for 4.6Ls. its a mustang performance parts site jcponyparts.com. was thinking about getting a diffetent intake not exactly a coud air one but one like that. but on the police interceptor computer I found one at a salvage yard for 65 bucks
I figured that the computer was programed differently in the cop cars than the civilian cars. to give them more hp. they have over 40 more hp and more torque but worse fuel mileage.

but I did find a crown vic with factory dual exhaust but it wasn't a cop car. but I thought that the ecu or computer from the police interceptor for 65 was cheap.

I was looking around and found a site called rpmoutlet.com that has factory 1999-2004 mustang PI heads for the 4.6 and I was thinking of getting a set of them along with a new air intake new intake plenum and typhoon PI aluminum intake but use the factory cumputer and throttle body but maybe some stage 1 or stage 2 cams later on. what do you guys think.

sounds like you would have to have the computer custom set for the cams...

I think I will just go with the heads and intake
