Removing plastic trim on floor by door?
Hi, I was hoping someone could tell me how to remove the trim pieces that are on the floor right next to the door so I can run my RCAs. Thanks.

what year is it?
as a general rule, if it is a single piece between the front and rear doors, you'll have to remove the screws that go down into the car as well as the screws on the center pillar near the bottom. then you can slide it up a little to allow for cables to be run. since you say it's plastic, I'm sure this is how yours will work. |
if you are running amp lines... remove the passenger seat...
run the power line along the side under the floor plastic along the door areas... i run the RCA cables thru center of car to the trunk ... i separate them since the power line can cause noise in the system next to RCAs... the kick panel you are talking about under the dash in front of door is held in place by a plastic push clip the holds it under there and it slides about an inch under the a pillar and the front screw of door plastic molding kida holds it in place... |
Is it necessary to remove the passenger seat?
|
no, but it can help for accessibility issues.

In the '92-'94 Grand Marquis, the door jambs are just clipped in place. Carefully remove the kick panel and then pull up on the jamb.

to run RCA wiring hidden under carpet best to remove passenger seat to lift carpet

Removing plastic trim on floor by door
Does the whole plastic insert part just snap in or do I need to remove the door panel to remove the plastic part around the window switch?
Thanks |

Thanks usually taking the door panel off make it easier to see how to do everything and usually involves removing only a few screws and then gently lifting up and out. Before the 92 models came out you would have to pop the panel out of the door first before lifting due to the use of the push clips on the back side of the panel. |
