shaker hood on 97 grand marquis
 

I was thinking about putting a shaker hood system for a 96-04 mustang on my car but was woundering if I could modify it enough to fit. but in doing this I would get a hood off of another gm/ cv from a salvage yard instead of cutting up my good factory hood does anybody know if it can be done ?

It can be done, with enough money anything can be done (lol), though I wouldn't spend the money on the name-brand mustang air-box/kit, rather I'd make my own or find aftermarket parts to save the money. As far as the hood or body work if you've got experience there, you'll save out a lot doing it yourself as opposed to using a shop. With no experience nor equipment more-especially, it could be a bit tricky even though setting up and modifying the spare hood you mentioned to fit the air system should be fairly straight forward with some minor modification and maybe some custom-fab; plus of course any custom changes/improvements you may see fit along the way.

I was going to get one from jegs but it comes from classic design concepts for about 800 bucks it is a bit expencive but it is a fully functional air intake system everything needed is included in the kit.

Can you posts some pics of it?
