In driving in snow and ice and the Grand Marquis being real wheel drive I was wondering if all season tires are ok or is it better to put on snow tires and if so so I need to put on 4 tires or can I just put 2 on the drive tires?

Do you have a limited slip differential or open? If you have a LS you can get away with all season tires provided you carry around enough weight in the trunk.

I carry a set of tire chains in the trunk in lieu of having separate sets of tires.

Use the search function, and you will find quite some interesting details about the MGM and winter driving.

Greetings!

I live in Ohio and have had this current Mercury since

1997 and drive it daily in the snow with nary any problems...no snow tires either...also lived in Colorado and never had snows on there either..all depends on how you handle your car is what I think....I stay off the road on days like this one this last March 2008
