On my father's 99 Grand Marquis the wipers don't return to the correct position when they are turned off.
They were told that the wiper motor needs to be replaced. Is there anything else that could cause this? |
A bad multi-function switch (MFS) can cause it as well. That's the "stalk" you use to turn the wipers ON and OFF. It can be replaced for less than $100 if you do it yourself.

Just had my mechanic change wiper motor (adjustable speed wipers) for my MGM, yesterday. The replacement installed was $140. Prior to replacement, the wipers only worked on "High" setting and would not seat flush in the "OFF" position. |
Thanks for your help.
