08 Mariner Engine Replacement

I need to replace the 2.3L engine on my 2008 Mariner. Does anyone know if a 2009 2.5L engine from a Ford Escape will fit and work ok without excessive modifications (engine computer, transmission etc). The local wrecking yard says it will swap in and work.
