2008 Mariner Cabin Air Filter Change?
 

I'm on my 2nd year with my 08 Mariner. 31k miles - no issues
Just did receive a transmission cooler recall notice. Need to get to the dealership & see what she needs.
Yesterday pulled out the service schedule and noticed that I've already missed changing the cabin air filter? Is this a filter that I can find at my local autoparts store ie: Napa, or Auto Value. I looked a bit on line for some advise, but get conflicting information on how this is changed. One website says you can access under the hood near the cowl, another says take off the glovebox cover ?
Thanks in advance for any advise - Is this something I even need to worry about?

my daughter has the 2008 mariner...she had a bad smell coming from the vents when using outside air...we opened the passenger side cowling (under the hood by the windshield) by removing three of the push clips and raising the plastic cover. Then removed the water shield which just pulled up and out...what we saw inside, a screen to keep out large debris and NO Filter. The bad smell came from a critter (mouse or baby bird) inside which had died....couldn't figure out how it got inside...all openings to the outside that we could find were protected by screens...vacuumed everything out and applied some Fabrize...

I have got 2011 Mariner yesterday itself. its great and i am really happy after buying it.

Where is the CAF for the 2010 Mariner?

I have Mercury Mariner 2008, 3.0 KAT 149 kW.
- Where can I find a manual for my car ? It will make my life much more easier.
