Tow Hitch for Mariner

Tow Hitch for Mariner
Hi everyone. If you can read this it means you successfully navigated through all the ads for escorts and hotels. Congratulations!
This is my first post.. I imagine this is an easy question for some of you and I'm sorry if I can find the answer somewhere already or if this post should be somewhere else.
I want a tow hitch for my 2009 Mariner and I'm trying to get one at a junkyard because, well, they're expensive.
I am under the impression that a hitch from a 2008-2012 Escape or 2008-2011 Mariner will fit.
Is this true?
Dan

There are 2 hitch classes to choose from -- Class 3 has the 2-inch receiver opening -- Class 2 has the 1.25-inch receiver opening.
Don't monkey around -- get the 2-inch receiver !!
The years of the Mariner and Escape that you mentioned can accept the 2-inch hitch -- some modifications may be required, depending on your specific vehicle.
The CURT # 13650 is a Class 3 hitch -- 3,500 lb capacity.
Available at RockAuto.com. -- for about 135 dollars.
