I have had my 2007 Milan Premier for a few days now. It's great. However, being a longtime GM man I notice differences between brands. I am not saying one is right or wrong, just different. Here's my question. According to the manual, when the key is removed from the ignition the steering wheel should lock. I hear a click but there is still play in the wheel. On my Buick the wheel would click into place with no play. Thanks.

Chrysler products are the same way it think...you have to make like a half a turn before it complete locks...whereas on GM's it locks as soon as you pull the key, no intervention required. I dunno about the Milan's, however, I would assume that's how it would operate (just like my Marquis).

Thanks for the explanation. Even the dealership didn't explain that to me. I tried turning the wheel as you described and it does indeed lock after a half turn. It is hard to turn so I imagine the lock hardly ever gets engaged. If someone tried to steal it, the wheels would lock pretty quick. Thanks for answering my old post.
