I'm new to this forum, but I bet someone on here can help me.
I have a 1960 Mercury Monterey 4 door sedan. When I bought the car the original gas tank was out of the car and rotted beyond repair. I got a "1960 Mercury Monterey" gas tank off of E-Bay. After having all the holes sealed up I went to put it in the car and it is too big. The filler neck goes in correctly, But the front end goes beyond where the straps get anchored.
Does anyone know if there is a size difference between the tank for a 4 door vs. the tank in a 2 door?
