I personally don't respond to 1 time posters, not even introducing themselves. They come and go, and just want to pick a freebie. Fine, but at least let us know who you are.

Don't you greet when you meet someone? Then don't expect at least me to respond.

Do some research for your record book on how to, not only in forums on the Internet.

Greetings!

Hello everyone!!!!

I am a proud owner of a 02 Mountianeer, 2nd owner

I didnt introduce myself because this forum dosent come across and being personable, more like being run by the maufacturer itself

Hope I didnt offend anyone.

I am on a few other forums for my other auto and that seems to be run by people, not machines

I called a dealer and they said my mirrors are bad and had to bring it in,,,,WHAT ELSE WOULD THEY SAY??$$$$$

I stopped by my local dealer and they said its activated when you turn on the rear defroster, that make sense.

Its time to bring it into the shop and pay the deductable

rear wiper is very slow

gas guage not working, the one with the needle, the electronic one is ok

abs lite on

Welcome!

Not taken.

Nothing seems what it appears to be. Even though AI (Artificial Intelligence) is being discussed, movies made about and fancy software pretending it written, there's no forum ran by machines.

Maybe some of us are just a little more proficient than others. Not only that you can get (some) to show up to get something fixed, it will be done correctly, the way it is supposed to be. Not a quick fix which lacks attention to the details.

Heated mirrors are "bad"? I would ask myself how they can go "bad".

The heated mirror system on Explorer/Mountaineer has its own circuit, due to the large amount of current drawn.

The heater is supposed to come on when the button for the rear defroster is pressed, however, outside temperature has to be below a certain number of degrees, and I have not found any reference on what this temperature is.

Below are the layouts of the distribution/fuse box. I would recommend not only visually checking the fuses, but pulling them out. Very often the contacts are corroded. Remember, many years old, electricity is running through 2 touching metal parts, pulling it out and pushing it back into might help.

Any confusion of this message being computer generated is pure speculation!
