Just bought a used 04 Mountaineer Premier (certified pre-owned) and it has a remote starter system installed which looks to be 'factory' issue but I can not find anything in the manuals that discuss the remote start option. The keyless remote fobs looks like it's factory issue and not an aftermarket brand. It has 4 buttons:

Top left (black button) is a padlock (locks the doors)

Top right (black button) is the unlocked padlock (unlocks doors/hold down for a few secondsto unlock hatch)

Bottom left (red button) has a magnifying glass and a horn symbol

Bottom right (blue button) is a key symbol (remotely starts car after holding down for about 5-10 seconds - lights also flash once before it starts).

There is also asmall antenna mounted on the inside of the windshield next to the rearview mirror which I believereceives the signal from the remote fob. Wires to the antenna are hidden and enter the headliner with harnessfor the rearview mirror.

Anyone know if this is a factory installed option or not?

The remote is made by Code Systems, Inc.

Thanks in advance for the help.
