I have a '97 Mountaineer -- just replaced the thermostat (it was over-cooling, which can cause the EGR to throw a fault, apparently). All was well for a few days (no check engine light!), then I noticed a small coolant leak, dripping from the oil filter. I did do a cooling system flush and added new (it was rusty; previous owner apparently a slouch). I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and what's the fix? My local dealer wanted an arm and leg to do the thermostat and flush, so I avoid those dudes. Greatly appreciate any help. This is a 5.0 engine.< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-45";

i would backtrack the coolant leak and see where it is coming from. when you did the other repairs, you might not have gotten the hose clamps tightened well enough.
