Dead Mountaineer
 

I have a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer with the 4.5 V8, AWD. It is completely dead and I do not know where to start to get it up and going. One day I got home and parked. It was running well and everything seemed normal. The next time I got in, I turned the key and all the accessories came on as they should. But, when I went to crank, everything went dead and nothing would come back on. I could go back the next day, and all the accessories came back on but when I cranked it it died again. So I thought it was an ignition switch. I replaced that, and now everything is dead. I cant even get this thing out of park to roll it on a trailer to take it to a mechanic. Before this happened, the alternator went bad so I replaced it and put a new battery as well. So I know that is not the problem. Have any of you had this issue before? Thanks.
