Default Factory Brake Control Module?

Hello all!

I have an '05 AWD Mountaineer with the tow package 4.6 V8. Bought the truck used. Is there a chance there is a factory brake control module, or did I spend my summer with my truck stopping the trailer all by itself?

Also, do our Mountaineers have tranny coolers, or should I look at adding one of those too?

Thanks all.

tranny cooler is an easy check. pop the hood and if you see two hard lines going to the side of the radiator, there is no aux tranny cooler. If the lines go to a smaller radiator in front of the A/C condenser and main radiator, then yes, it has one.

as for brake control... I doubt that anything less than a F250 would come equipped with that. The mountaineer is not built to pull loads that would really need that kind of help. Having that kind of help on any load is nice though. A dealer could tell you for sure (should be able to at least).
