I have a 1998 Mountaineer w/4 lt, 2wd. There is a strange noise coming from the top of the engine. It sounds like something is loose. It idles fine and runs fine. I took the PCV and oil filler cap off and didn''t notice any change is the sound. Could this be the EGR or is it something to do with the FI system? The only codes that showed up was the EGR and O2 sensor.
