’P’ button on console

A friend of mine has a mountaineer and it has a button on the console just to the right of the steering wheel with a 'P' on it.

He does not have the manual. Does anyone know what this button is for?

I think it's a couple years old, maybe an 03 or 04. (They are out of the state right now)

Is it an up and down button. if it is, it adjusted the pedals. up and down.

I answered this in another post, but it is the button that turns the rear park assist off.
