I have a 1996 Mystique, over all good car, it has 162,793 miles on it.. but I noticed one thing.. my temperature hand will 'float'.. for example when sitting in traffic or sitting still my temperature hand will go from the "r" in normal to the "a" or "l" but never reaches the red, but then it will just drop right back down to the 'r' after a few seconds of rising.. what could be causing this?

 

are you able to hear your fan kick on once it starts to rise or does it not kick on, mine will never go into the normal range, it goes from cold into the white and never has gone past the white bar and mine is a 1997 but i hear my fan kick on when it gets close to the edge of the white bar
