Hey gang. It looks like this website has only one post in the Mercury Montego section. I am an owner of a 1976 Mercury Montego. Clean as hell for $175. I bought the car back in July from an elderly lady and it hadnt been started since 1990. The reason why she stopped driving it is unknown because it is mint. It has 19,000 verified miles too!

since the car sat up for so long, I''d check the vacuum lines for deterioration and, if you haven''t already, change all the fluids and filters.

Congrats on finding the Montego and such a great deal too! I''m guessing Grandad passed on and Grandma lost her "nerve", so parked the car. Thousands of nice cars sit in garages across the country, and it''s a shame to have them slowly deteriorate. Grandpa probably will be smiling as you enjoy the car as it was meant to be enjoyed.
