HI. I''m new to this site. I am looking for a fuel door for a 1979 Mercury Monarch. It was a flip down door in the rear that looked like it was part of the red tail lights lens going across the rear of the vehicle. Anyone know where I can search, find, purchase this item other than looking in junk yards??

 

unfortunately, no. you can try places like www.automotix.net that also have a part locator service, but unless you find one in a junk yard that has the rear end in good shape, I doubt you''ll find that part.

the problem is that it''s a part for an older car that not one of the really popular classics. You might be able to get something that looks similar and mount it to the actual metal of the door or replace it with something more personalized, but I doubt you''ll be able to find someone online that will have anything remotely the same as what you need. at least my quick JGI (just Google it) didn''t find anything helpful.
