My Merc is my baby. It's old and has a lot of miles but runs like new. I am joining this forum in hopes of getting some mileage tips. I have made the most important adjustment, the one between my ears, and have started driving in a very conservative manner putting my mileage as high as 27.8mpg. This summer I hope to get my Merc above 30mpg. The mods I have done so far are basic. I installed a K&N air filter, and cut holes in the airbox to facilitate better airflow. I have synthetic oil in the engine, trans, and rear diff. Next mod will be to remove the radiator fan and install an electric radiator fan. Any other cost effective ideas would be appreciated.
