I'm looking for some answers regarding the daytime running lights on my 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. Occassionally, the daytime running lights will stay onafter I turn off the engine. I have to disconnect the battery's negative cable, so the battery won't be drained. Usually after connecting and disconnecting the negative cable several times, the problem corrects itself for a few weeks. A friend mentioned that this problem could be related to the keyless entry touch pad, but I'm hoping that a member of this forum might have some ideas about how to correct this situation permanently. PLEASE HELP!!!! |
how long do they stay on without you disconnecting the battery?

I'm not really sure how long they would stay on and, since I didn't know, I would disconnect the negative cable. I talked to my local Ford/Mercury dealership yesterday and was told that it could be the DRL module or that module might be a part of the Light Control Module. It appears that the solution will be a costly one, because the cost of the DRL module alone is C $250.00. |
ouch. i do know that with some cars, when you get out of the car with the lights on, they stay on for a certain amount of time, and go off automatically. are you sure it isnt that?
