Hello/ help needed to fix family villager.

Greetings all. I have a '94 villager that until recently has done very well with absolutely no maintenance. Bought with 132,000 miles on it and now has 245,000. I mean NO maintenance. Poor van.
Now tho it sorely needs help. It barely will idle and accelerates poorly/misses alot. Won't pass DEQ here in Oregon.
I'm the kind of guy that until last couple of years had never held a sparkplug.
I really don't know what I'm doing and could use a little/LOT of help.
I figure that the first on the list is to do a full tuneup. I don't even know how to get the sparkplugs out. Do I need a special socket for this?

I guess I'll take my actual questions to the question forums down below.

Thanks
