I own a 2005 Mountaineer. I purchased it used with no idea of the password for the exterior key pad to get me in the car incase of a lock out! Does anyone have a clue? Can I do this myself? (Yes, I would not be asking if it didn't already happen!) Thank God for AAA!

 

That's a good question. Same situation happened with my Grand Marquis. Bought it used, no idea what the code is. The guy at the dealership said usually the default code is somewhere in the book. If it's been changed, and you need to change it to something else - call a Ford dealership. Chances are, if they know you bought it used - they'll reprogram for free in hopes you'll bring it back to them for service. :-)

I found my code this past weekend. Turns out it was on a little white plastic card in the fabric case for the car book.
