Hey all...I just joined this forum...and I have a '97 Grand Marquis LS with only 48xxx miles...its a fun car, i put a cold air intake on it and put some subs in it...with more mods coming...but i hope I can help with advice and hopefully learn more about my car then i already have!

48K, that's nothing, especially for the V8. Just treat the cast iron/aluminum head engine the right way, and it will serve you for many years and miles.


I have about 48k on mine as well, sorry, but I will win the annual average, mine is a '92.


And there is always more to learn, the maze of engineers' thinking is amazing. LOL

No, I just keep it around so I can post on here. LOL


If you really want to know: Friends of mine kept the car in Florida and only drove it when they went down there during the winter time. They then got another car, and it was sitting for around 4 years in their front yard.


They finally sold it to me, and now it's getting some miles put onto it.


200k? Oh yes, easily. I have 2 people up here, 1 has around 370k on it (rebuilt transmission), the other one 260k, all original.


The only thing they do: Oil change on engine and transmission, that's it. Remember: Don't touch a running system.
