Hi, my name is Kyle. I am from Anchorage Alaska. I have had lots for foreign cars and am sick of them waisting my money on repairs. I also need something that can tow my snowmachine in the harsh alaskan winter. I am looking to buy my first domestic vehicle. I am looking at a 04 mountaineer with 47k miles for $9000. It is fully loaded minus sunroof.
Anything I should look for? I am a fan of awd over 4wd from owing audi''s and watching them drive by my stuck dad is his 4wd dodge. Is a mountaineer a good buy? with that low of miles and the price i think so

Living in Alaska, with lots of snow, I would look for a modified Toyota.
Toyota on 38" and air lockers on both front and rear is unstoppable.
Toyota is the worlds most reliable car.

Isn''t this a Mercury forum? The Mountaineer is a fine vehicle. Just a rebadged Explorer (mostly). There are some drive train and trims differances, and they are a little more. Most vehicles today benefit not only from better technology, but better, stronger, materials. I''m not a big fan of plastic over wood though. The mountaineer is a fine choice, especially ''03 and above. Good Luck!!
