Default Yo

yo,i'm here now.

I don't even like fords,but I work on em.
Joined cause I picked up a 1995 mercury villager, won't be seeing the road again but what the heck.
I'm a ford tech by day, autozone manager at night, and operate a small GM tuning business on weekends.
I've got 1 wife,2 kids,3 cats,2 birds,3 fieros,2 yukons,1 impala,1 windsor,1 mclaren turbo car and a badazz craftsman lawnmower (28hp with flames!).
We live in Oklahoma,my wife stays at home, and we're DEBT FREE (not counting house, two more months!)
*shameless Dave Ramsey bump*

I bought the villager for my son (Ben,4yo). Not to drive (bought him a 48 windsor that's been in the family since new!) but as a clubhouse.
I will be installing solar panels, lights,tv and all the cool stuff to make the coolest redneck clubhouse in the world!
It is dark green, and we plan to park it on the backside of our pond. It will be unseen due to cedar trees,so will be like a secret hideout.

I'll post pics, right now am in the middle of rebuilding the mclaren turbo motor to drop in one of the fiero's.

I'll also be parting out a bunch of stuff on the villager,so if anyone is interested in anything let me know. More than likely no parts over $10 if that even.

Dave Ramsey rocks. I love his sense of humor.

Welcome, and thanks for the spot check with the performance threads. There's a lot of info I don't really know and it helps lots to have someone give the correct info. I'm a shade tree mechanic and not trained, so I give the info I've learned (which isn't always proper or even correct for that matter) when I can.

I've never though of using a van for a club house. Makes sense though. Lots of room, comfy seats, and easy to modify. Sounds like you also have an interesting collection of vehicles too. I bet the fiero will be silly fast after you're done too.

Not sure if it'll be fast or not, stock fiero 2.8 engine is 135hp-mine is dynoed right now at a little over 100hp (All stock 160kmiles).
Stock Mclaren turbo 3.1 engine is 205hp,and when it goes in the fiero(after rebuild)should be right at 300hp.
300hp in anything that's 2600lbs should be silly fast.
It's just my daily driver though, not my racer.
Here's one that I race (currently dissassembled and powertrain going into a 2dr convertible Yukon with AWD,turbo and custom built injection)

(yeah,that's my 5600lb truck spinning 20's through 1st,2nd and 3rd )

I'll get some pics up of the van, still looking for ideas for cool stuff.
I would love to put it in a tree, but don't want to hurt any of them on my property.
Thinking of buying the property behind us that has a huge tree that would be perfect for a "van-house" or "tree-van".

Also though of painting the whole thing yellow to look like spongebob,an artist friend of mine owes me a favor.

ones with no rust will cost you lots. (over $8000 at least)
really popular ones in good shape usually go for at least $20,000
Rust bucket resto-job will usually get below $4,000 (though even some of the real popular bodies will still cost more)
If you're looking for just something that's go-fast, then you might look at some of the older (but not classic) pony cars (small car, big engine). You can probably get a mid 80s mustang for less than $2000, but you'll probably have to rebuild a few things on it.
