Are there any collectors? I recently purchased a '70 Merc Cougar. Looking for information on places to get supplies for restoring. It's in good shape, but needs some replacements.

What kind of replacement parts are you looking for? I just got hold of a 1979 Mercury Cougar XR7. I'm looking for the chrome strip for the passenger door and I'm going to have to find a complete instument panel for the gauges, cause the plastic backside totally desinigrated when I took it out. I also will need the passenger tail light, so if you find a place to start getting this kind of stuff, pass it on. I know I will be happy to get this answered. As far as any engine , transmission, or underbody parts I go thru Checker Auto Parts for alll of mine cause they are all Ford parts. I've rebuilt 3 C6 tranny's, bought a 351W long block, rebuilt 2 others myself, got all my shop stuff like cherry pickers, engine stand ect. from them with no problems ever. Another nice little trick to mark down when you make a big purchase, like if you're taking a cource in auto's at collage, they can do the paper work up right where it's ordered thru the school and then they will deliver it right to the class, instead of you having to pick it up at the store, also a dicounted price. They can get you the Chiltons book for you too.
