Hello


I was needing some help on a Sable of mine, my parents bought the 1993 Sable brand new drove it till 1995 till it started overheating and cracked head gasket. My parents told me I could have the car and fix it, so I was wondering did Ford recall this model? Someone said Ford denied that the 3.8 engine had overheating problems and never did recall it. If they did recall it, its to late to have a dealer fix it right?

Way too late. Those years of 3.0L & 3.8L Taurus and Sable engines were destined for head gasket failure.

 

if it is just the gasket and you are strapped for cash, you can purchase block and head gasket sealer. it works well and will probably last a good year or two. the trick is to drain out all of the antifreez and read the can how to use it properly. it is at any parts store.

 

it is a quick fix but it really works. if you have the ability to fix it then do so. otherwise save the money for gas and get the gasket sealer
