2003 Mercury Sable Gem Module

Hello,
My wife's 2003 Sable is falling apart (ie: rear coil springs/struts front and rear, front passenger control arm bushing, rear drivers side power window motor, moon roof is shot, now the GEM Module, all of which happened after 84K miles). I am slowly fixing each of the above mentioned problems. The most PIA problem seems to be the GEM module which won't let drivers side window go down and delays all interior lighting. Ford wants $476 for it. Junk yards in Jersey don't want to sell it! Any info locating one of these would be greatly appreciated! I do have the keyless entry option.
Thanks,
Soykes
P.S. I looked at factory wiring diagrams to see if I could eliminate GEM module entirely from window and parallel wiring over from front passenger side switch, but that won't work (motor goes to GEM module). Neither would a chassis ground to auto down relay since it is hot all the time! Any info would be great!

Just curious if anyone else has the driver's side window dilemma? If so, was it the GEM module?
Thanks
By the way, we love the car, just can't believe all that is going wrong with it. It has been very well taken care of.

I'm curious myself, but I don't have any experience with GEMs because I drive older cars that were just switches and relays all around.

When you look at it, the GEM module is pretty sophisticated and built well with a sharp design.

Had the GEM scanned through the OBD. A couple of strange codes were in there, but nothing pertaining to the power window problem. Spoke with the shop's tech mechanic and explained all the symptoms. He said that he's 95% sure it's the module and comes across this problem quite often.

there is a junkyard i go to that has half a dozen 01-05 Tauruses that might work. just need a pic and see what i can do. i went and snagged rear drums and need to go back for ABS wiring to the passenger rear since my brothers fell out and broke(dragged on the ground) my brother has a 2005 and has me working on it since he was quoted $300 for rear brakes and parts and my labor only cost him $90

Thanks. The first thing to look for is keyless entry which seems to have something to do with it. I don't have a picture since the module is back in the car right now. I do have a long part number which I can send you when I get the chance. The module is located under the fuse panel near the brake pedal. The junk yards by me don't want to be bothered with it because it is electronic.

Hey guys,
I never followed up on this thread, but here goes. I got a new OEM GEM module on eBay with exact part number for $150 (Ford wanted close to $500). Put it in and it fixed the following: Interior lights (no longer delayed), radio volume (stays constant), and power locks. The drivers side window still did not work. This problem ended up being caused by a fault in the fuse panel. I had a shop get a new one from Ford for $350 and replace it. Now everything works fine--hopefully for good. Hope this helps.
