I have a 2003 Sable with a factory alarm. It goes off randomly (headlights blink and horn sounds) while it is parked. It doesn’t matter if it is in the garage or outside, as well as the weather conditions (I live in MN). I have read that you can splice the factory alarm disarm wire and ground it out. Is this the best option or do you have another opinion on why this keeps happening? Let me know if you find a solution because I am still searching/looking. Anyone else experience the same problem or have any advice??? |
Is it a perimeter alarm, or justa panic alarm? In other words, does your key fob have a panic button? (press it and the alarm sounds?) Let me know.

Yes, the FOB has a panic button, so I'm assuming its a panic alarm.

Intermittent door lock switches have been a HUGE problem on Ford vehicles. The solution is to lubricate them or replace them. If yours are acting up, it will appear as an intrusion to the alarm system and set off the alarm. Do your interior lights ever stay on? Is there a significant delay in dome light when you open the door?

I'll try lubricating the lock switches. The interior lights don't stay on, nor is there any delay in the dome light when you open the door. |
