This started out as just an overheating problem....

Problem 1: Car ran fine on the highway but pissed coolant once off. I replaced the water pump which was needed. The old pump had a flat impeller so it wasn't pumping anything. It was still pissing out water from the overflow tank. I figured the car was faulty; I had dropped it and tried putting it back together. Well no change with the new one. The temp gage is showing everything to be okay though. Why would it still be doing this?

Problem 2: After the water pump was replaced the car started running really rough. I have to push the petal to the metal just to start it. When at stop signs I have to throw it in neutral and keep the RPMs up. If I don't it just quits running on me.

Any suggestions?

ok i just started having this exact problem, except for the pissing coolant part.....

i gotta push the pedal like dale earnhardt to keep it running when stopped, once im moving and above 2000 rpm it is fine.....

and it is fine to start idle when it has been sitting a while, but it its at operating temp, dies from idling, dies from driving under 2000 rpm, sounds like its outa gas, and most the time it actually dont die, it sputters and misfires att 250 500 rpm, half the normal idle..... dies after a few seconds.

fuel pump or blockage of the intake, or the valves in the manifold are malfunctioning, or severely BADDD air filter are my thoughts

also may be bad fuel filter, you run any fuel system cleaner lately, that kills your fuel filter, if so change that now
