97 sable idle

Hey, does anyone know what the 97 sable 3.0 motor should be idling at? S:rolleyes:hould it be idling the same cold as hot?

generally yes, the idle should be the same. I think it should be around 800 to 1000 rpm IIRC (if I remember correctly). I may state the idle speed on the decal under the hood with the other engine specs on it (and belt diagram).

hey there slymer, how goes it? oky doky thanks, Its idling around 900rpms so i guess its ok. i'll check under the hood to see if there is anything there anyhow. Have a great evening

btw, it should run a little faster when cool for "warm-up". If it's already above 90F outside, it may not need to "warm up" first. Though if I remember, the sable/taurus engines didn't have much of a difference between the two states anyhow.
