I''m want to change out the instrument panel surround on my 99 sable. Mine is all scuffed. In order to do this I need to remove the radio and the surrounding panel to get to the screw to the right side of the steering column. I bought the radio removal tools. It worked on the left side of the radio, but the right side refuses to come loose. I am afraid to pull harder and risk breaking a tab for when I go to put it all back together. Any suggestions?

when you insert the tool (I''m assuming the U shaped tool that goes into two small holes at the side of the radio), don''t just pull straight back, lean the tool away from the radio as well (like on the right side, lean the tool further right as you pull on it). if that gives you the same problem, try leaning the tool the other direction. if this is the correct tool I''m thinking of, you shouldn''t be able to break anything because it''ll be metal on metal. just be ready when it gives way to stop pulling so hard. they can be quite stubborn (at least on the vics I''m used to working with).
