Hey guys, my 1997 Sable''s having trouble holding the proper rpm in drive</span>,</span> while the car is stopped</span>. The rpm''s bounce up and down and will sometimes cut off. No trouble while driving or when the engine is still cold. I saw other post and decided to try to clean the gunk out of the IAC valve and motor like someone here had suggested. How do you do this properly? What do I use to clean it? Thanks Steve

Hey Steve. Do you have a Vulcan or Duratec? The idle fluctuation only happens in gear? How many miles does it have and what exactly did you use to clean the IAC? Any difference at all? Sorry for all the ?''s but it will get you a more accurate response. Let me know.

I have a Duratec with 150000 miles. I have not cleaned it yet. I am asking that question(how and with what?). It happens in gear when the car is not moving and after the engine is warmed. Thanks
