Just wondering what you guys are getting on mileage. We have an 03 dohc 3.0 and seem to be getting around 320 mile to a take. THis is with an 18 gallon tank too. This is mostly highway also. It seems to me like it should be doing better then this. This car has 48k miles.

I have a '97 with the same duratecengine. I get about the same but I have a 16 gallon tank mostly highway , too. You could try some cheap things like some fuel system and or injector cleaner. Fuel filter, O2 sensor, or even an early tune-up. Good luck.

I will start with the fuel filter and checking to see if the maf is dirty. I see no reason why it should need anything other then that at 48,ooo miles.

Do you know what you are supposed to be getting for mpg?

I dont know what I am suppose to get. From what I understand, I should be getting at least 22 on mpg in city. We just rechecked mileage and averaged 17 this time. This is mainly highway usage.

Yeah, there is something not right there. That's more like the mpg of a F-350.

I stopped off at a ford dealership and asked a service guy and he said that 320 or so per tank sounds normal. What the heck? My Mustang with a 347 gets that kind of mileage.

We have a 2002 Sable with the 24v motor and going from PA to florida I was seeing 33 mpg on the highway/ interstate stretches, avg 70-75 mph.

I just checked mine and was getting 26.8 the last tank in this oven here at 103 degrees. I got 380 miles at 16 .7 gallons. 3.0 single ohc
