Have my recalls been taken care of?
#1
I just bought a 1996 Mercury Sable. I noticed that shortly after they came out there were a few recalls on the transmission. Does anybody know how I can check into my cars history and see if the original owner took it in and had the recalls fixed?< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-45";

urchinTracker();</>I called the local Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer and was told that as long as recalls are open they can be taken care of. If it's a safety recall then it remains open and can be fixed indefinitely. But he said some recalls have time limits or mileage limits. Most mechanical recalls won't be taken care of after 100,000 miles he said. And since my car has 160,000 on it I guess I'm outta luck if any of the mechanical recalls weren't taken care of.
