Last Legs
 

Hi everyone! Im here because I believe my poor 2001 sable is on its last legs. For about 20,000 miles, it has had a small "hiccup" when going up steep hills. During the last 3 months though, it has got much worse. Now at idle, especially with the a/c on, it misses or cuts out all the time. When going up a hill below 2000 rpms, the motor cuts out and jerks like its about to stop, but when it downshifts and the rpms get over 2000, it runs good again. It only does it going up hills, cruising around it runs fine. The engine light is on but only shows up p0303 and p0301(cyl 1 and 3 misfire). I have replaced the plugs, plug wires, #3 fuel injector, fuel filter, even the transmission filter, but its still as bad as ever and seems to be getting worse. I took it to the ford dealership and they checked the compression on those cylinders but it came back good. It doesn't smoke or make any internal noise at all that I can hear. The ford dealership also said cyl #5 with starting to miss a little, but not enough to throw a code. I am stumped about it. It feels just like a truck I used to have that had bad plug wires, but Ive changed them and I hate to keep putting money into it without fixing the problem.
