rear sway( stabilizer bar)
hey all, i have to replace the bushings on my rear sway/ stabilizer bar and i dont know what the diameter of ithe bar is. it is a 1997 sable 3.0 liter with the 12 valve overhead. would anyone out there know off hand? thanks a lot, greatly appreciated

Your best bet would be to get you hands on a set of calipers and measure it.. It is possible that the size could differ from car to car...

wow... my cars are way older and I'm just barely looking at replacing the sway bar links... the bushings are fine... though maybe a little cracked around the edges... they're still doing their job.
anyhow... it should be 18, 19, or 20 mm. 23/32", 3/4", 25/32" a caliper for measuring round objects would be your best bet to figure out which one it is since it seems they used 3 different ones that year. |
WOW not much difference between those.. Those specs ought to make it easier to figure it out though...

not much difference until you try to put the wrong size bushing on... if it's not right, you'll have hell trying to get it to work. it's amazing what one mm difference will do.
