I just bought a 2000 Sable with 64k miles on it. Is mercury still responsible to fix any recall items that may still be open on it?

 

AFAIK yes they will still take care of any recalls.. Service bulletins and campaigns however they won't...

 

yes... i have a grand marquis and they sent out a recall on the speed cotrol a few years ago and at the time my car was in my grandfathers name and he passed away so he didnt get any mail and i put the car in my name and about 2 and a half weeks ago i got a recall letter and had it fixed no charge..
